Valkyrie in Ragnarok.
Valkyrie with flaming sword in Ragnarok.
Valkyries are female enemies that appear in Ragnarok. Valkyrie resemble young women wearing viking helmets and long capes while embracing a sword and a shield. They also have tattoos all over her body which are more decorative than those of the Viking Berserkers. Even though they won't go into berserker rage they shouldn't be underestimated. They're a lot faster than her male counterparts and are able to protect themselves well from bullets thanks to the shield. Later, on the small island outside the village, Valkyries now use flaming swords to fight, noticeably increasing their damage output; they're also bigger in size.
- Valkyries almost always inflame when they are killed.
- In Norse mythology, a valkyrie (from Old Norse valkyrja "chooser of the slain") is one of a host of female figures who choose those who may die in battle and those who may live. Selecting among half of those who die in battle (the other half go to the goddess Freyja's afterlife field Fólkvangr), the valkyries bring their chosen to the afterlife hall of the slain, Valhalla, ruled over by the god Odin.
