Cathedral is the fourth level of Painkiller chapter 1.
Description
This level is set in big cathedral which has built in the Gothic style. It contians one big multistory hall with stained glass and several others connected to it including one without celling. Also below the cathedral are crypts.
Monsters
This level is inhabited mostly by monks and nuns. They include:
- Evil Monks
- Devil Monks
- Psychonuns
- Giant Vamp - the miniboss of level.
Tarot card
Tarot card of this level is Time Bonus. To acquire it, player has to collect at least 500 gold.
Secret areas/pickups
Two bronze armors can be found in this level, one in the second crypt in the underground at the beginning, and other inside in the room next to the multistorey hall on the second floor in front of the stained glass.
Secrets and holy items
- The first secret is located on the ruined platform supported by the columns where a mega soul can be seen. It is reached by climbing on the collapsed column through the little gap and once you reach the other platform, you must make momentum by bunny jumping then leap from the highest point possible.
- The second secret is located on the suspended platform in the same room as the first secret, it is reached by jumping on the well vertically placed coffin (unless you didn't destroy it) and then on the suspended platform.
- The third secret is located above the first floor in the room which leads to the basement entrance. It is reached after you open the entrance from the other side by killing every single monster and activating the checkpoint.

Description
This level is set in big cathedral which has built in the Gothic style. It contians one big multistory hall with stained glass and several others connected to it including one without celling. Also below the cathedral are crypts.

This level is inhabited mostly by monks and nuns. They include:

- Templar Knights
- Devil Monks
- Bones
- Psychonuns
- Giant Black Demon - the miniboss of level.
Tarot card
The Tarot Cards of this level are Speed and Vitality. To acquire them, player has to collect 330 pieces of gold dropped by the monsters (Speed) and collect at least 500 gold (Vitality).
Secret areas/pickups
Secrets and holy items
- The first secret is located on the suspended platform in the same room as the second secret, it is reached by jumping on the well vertically placed coffin (unless you didn't destroy it) and then on the suspended platform.
- The second secret is located on the ruined platform supported by the columns where a mega soul can be seen. It is reached by pushing the second last column (which is slightly tiled). To make it fall, place one of the exploding barrels scattered around the catheral and then destroy it. The columnt will fall on the ruins and after climbing on the collapsed column, you must make momentum by bunny jumping then leap from the highest point possible.
- The third secret is located high above on the ruined platform in the main nave of the cathedral. It is reached by going through the teleport which is on the stained glass next on the first floor next to the entrance that leads to the fourth secret.
- The fourth secret is located above the first floor in the room which leads to the basement entrance. It is reached after you open the entrance from the other side by killing every single monster and activating the checkpoint.
